Pine Tree Villa was established by the late Dr. Francisco and Dr. Erlinda Marasigan, two family practice physicians who were praised for their work with the elderly. During their 40+ years of service, the doctors provided medical care to generations of families and saw them though their stages of life. When they observed their elderly patients needing help to find placements in senior assistance living or other facilities, Francisco and Erlinda decided to open their own carehomes. Together with their daughter, Lynn Marasigan, they opened Pine Tree Villa in 2005. Lynn learned from her parents that those under your care should never be treated merely as clients – with rushed consultations or a one-size-fits-all approach to care. Rather, her parents instilled in Lynn the idea that taking care of residents requires time, patience, and tenderness. Lynn has a background in business, education, and art, and grew up providing administrative support in her parents’ medical practices. She serves as Pine Tree Villa’s administrator, where she leads her team of caregivers and brings charisma, warmth, and joy into everything she does. Lynn considers it an honor and privilege that so many families have entrusted her to care for their loved ones.

We are a licensed Residential Care Facility for the Elderly (RCFE, or carehome) located in Cameron Park, a quiet community in the foothills, 30 miles east of Sacramento. Our team of qualified caregivers provide 24/7 assistance and compassionate care to our residents. We meet health and safety requirements set by the California Department of Social Services and ensure that our staff receives regular training and education on issues relevant to the aging population. Our facility has 17 beds, can accommodate hospice residents, and has a large common area for group activities and family visits.
2. What makes Pine Tree Villa the right choice for my loved one?
We like to think that we are special because we are small. Unlike large residential facilities, Pine Tree Villa feels like a home. We have a favorable staff to resident ratio, which allows our caregivers to pay attention to each resident and stay focused on their individualized care plans. We get to know our residents – their likes and dislikes, what makes them feel safe and secure, their routines and habits – and we tailor our care to each of them. We believe that seniors who are looking for a quiet and more private living arrangement will appreciate Pine Tree Villa’s setting over that of a larger facility.
3. Do you provide hospice care?
Yes, we can accommodate up to 6 hospice residents. You may want to consider Pine Tree Villa for our ability to allow residents to age in place, rather than having to transfer from one facility to another that specializes in hospice care.
4. What are the process and requirements for moving in?
5. What kinds of meals do residents receive?
We are proud to consistently receive positive feedback on the homemade meals our talented staff prepares for our residents. Pine Tree Villa residents receive 3 balanced meals and healthy snacks each day. We are able to accommodate dietary restrictions and specific diets, and we love to prepare special meals for holidays and birthdays. Every breakfast will have fresh fruit and every lunch and dinner will have a salad and dessert.
6. What kinds of activities does Pine Tree Villa provide their residents?
People often get anxious about aging and may worry about loneliness, changes in mobility and health, or having to depend on others for assistance with everyday tasks. We strongly believe that our golden years can be full of joy and companionship, and we make sure to provide activities that keep our residents social, active, and mentally stimulated. In addition to having activities that residents can explore on their own (e.g,. books, puzzles), we conduct group activities to foster social skills and community building.
