I am at Pine Tree Villa every day because a close relative lives there. Very caring staff, always home-cooked meals, people smiling. Having volunteered at a lot of care homes (therapy dog visits) Pine Tree Villa is clearly number one on the list for me. Caregivers who worked there 15+ years ago still work there and that alone is telling a lot. My recommendation is to not look at how fancy a care home is but look at the care itself. That's what truly matters. My other recommendation is to get on the waiting list when you feel it could be close. Don't wait until a major fall or other emergency happens. You can always say no if you feel it's not quite time yet but, as the scouts say, be prepared. I am glad we were. Check them out, go there, then if still in doubt maybe ask if you could talk to a close relative of another resident. Many like me are gladly willing to talk about their experiences. To me Pine Tree Villa is like extended family.
My mother recently passed away and the care that the staff gave her was very thoughtful and considerate up to including the day she passed. My mother was there for almost 3 years and the staff treated her with dignity and respect. Meals were prepared everyday and snacks in between and whenever an issue came up, communicated directly with me to resolve it right away. When I was looking for a facility to place mom in, Lynn (the owner) would answer the phone at anytime to talk to me and after many, many calls to her was patient with all my questions, answered them honestly and offered great advice. We didn't want to place her in a facility that had hundreds of beds and purposely looked for a smaller facility to get a more personal care for my mom. The staff certainly lived up to my expectations and surpassed them with that personal care. I truly appreciate the care that Lynn's staff gave to my mother and would highly recommend if you loved one needs a staff that personally care about them, this is the place you'd want to be. Is it the most up to date, fancy place in the world...no, but the staff and Lynn make it the place I would trust again to place my loved one and that means so much more to me and my siblings than these larger, stuff your loved one in a room, facilities.
One of my most difficult days was when I had to accept that I was no longer able to care for my grandmother. I found Pine Tree Villa through a friend and I believe it was a direct answer to prayer. There is almost no turnover with staff, the place is clean and the smell of meals being prepared always makes you hungry. The staff went out of their way to treat my grandmother with dignity, care and respect. They sang to her, danced with her, did her nails, makeup and hair and she was always clean. The administrator plans social events throughout the year with amazing food and fun entertainment. There are various groups such as therapy dogs and choirs who come in regularly as well. My grandmother recently passed and we all cried together as one family, because when you have a loved one at Pine Tree Villa that's what you are, family.
Pine Tree is the most wonderful place for anyone looking for a place to help out with an elderly family member. My Granddaddy lived at Pine Tree for about 6 years, and it was an absolute answer to our prayers. Before we moved him in, he was in a "bed type" wheel chair and the doctors diagnosed him with, "Failure to thrive," and they told us we should just keep him comfortable until his passing. After 1 week of living at Pine Tree, he was in a regular wheel chair, and after the 2nd week, he was not even using a wheel chair any longer but a walker!!! He lived happily there for the next 6 years. They gave him the love and support that he needed to survive and I will never be able to thank them enough. I have referred Pine Tree to many other friends over the years, and they have all been so pleased. The amount of love that is shared with their residence is far beyond any other place I have seen. My Granddaddy has been gone now for about 10 months and I truly have missed my "family" at Pine Tree!!
After a disastrous experience at a supposedly well-regarded care facility in our community, our family is SO happy to have our Papa being lovingly cared for at Pine Tree Villa in Cameron Park, CA. The previous facility reported almost daily falls; cleanliness tasks like shaving & nails were left to his elderly wife; the place smelled badly; etc. etc. The kind staff at Pine Tree Villa has created a carefree environment for residents & family. Every need is lovingly & quickly attended to, with no fuss. Family & friends are invited to regular events such as ice cream socials. A recent tropical-themed party encapsulates the experience: it was lively & fun for all, with community resources like an ombudsman and a dental program participating. Papa broke out in song ("I sing because I'm happy"). A staff member gently touched his cheek as she passed. I felt close to tears - tears of joy & relief - as I thought of the peace Pine Tree Villa has brought to his loving wife & our whole family.
In 2013, my disabled and elderly aunt became my responsibility. I was at a loss about what to do. I knew she couldn't stay with me because of my remote location and stairs in my home. I began to research my options and visited many care homes. Then, a friend told me about Pine Tree Villa. The first time I walked into visit the facility, I was welcomed by their friendly and caring staff. I knew right away this would be a great space for my aunt. Now that she has lived there for five years, my aunt is thriving. She is happy and loves the routine of care. The staff is magnificent; not only are they the best cooks EVER, but the residents are also well-cared for, always helpful and happy to help. I can never thank Lynn enough for all she has done for my aunt, and the care she receives at Pine Tree Villa.
Love Pine Tree Villa! Home away from Home ...My dad was in a place that he was not happy so my family was desperately looking for somewhere that wasn't too expensive, was clean but not too fancy (like home) not a hotel. When I walked into the door at Pine Tree Villa it smelled clean first and then yummy with the smell of someone cooking and people singing and laughing. I brought dad the next day to see what he thought, and he moved in right away! They all took care of our dad like family and we all knew everyone of the staff by their first name regardless of shift! I highly recommend Pine Tree Villa to take care of your loved ones and take ALL of your worries away knowing that they are in the best care even through Hospice.
Pine Tree Villa is the best! My mom has been in a Dementia care home for 10 years. Pine Tree Villa is the third home she has been in and by far the most amazing care she has gotten! The caregivers are the sweetest, kindest people I could ever ask for to care for my mom. They adopted her into their family. And they treat her as if she was their very own mother. I feel like they've adopted me too. If you need a care home for your loved one, whether for Dementia or reasons, this is where you need to turn. You will be glad you did! And so will your loved one.
My mother in law has been at Pine Tree Villa for just a year now. She moved from another place because of uncaring administrators. As you walk thru the door at Pine Tree villa, you are welcomed by the kindest and most caring employees. A smile, a hug, great smell of home made meals, makes you feel like you have an extended family for your loved one as well as for yourself! My mother in law loves the attention she gets. A manicure or fresh hairdo, special meal (enchiladas), flower arranging, or making her own pizza are some of her favorite things at Pine Tree Villa! Thanks to Lynn and her angels, we have been able to relax knowing what kind of care Mom is receiving! Jeannie H.
I had a very positive experience at Pine Tree Villa. Unfortunately, my mom was only there from mid February to mid-April before she passed away, but the care was wonderful....And so was the support to our family during what was a really sad, stressful time.
It is fabulous, it is the best place I have ever ever, ever seen. My husband is so happy and well taken care of. Oh my God, those people up there, I can't say enough about them. He gets a bath every day, his bed is changed, they powder him and put oil on his skin. Everything is on time, 7:30 breakfast, 11:30 lunch, 4:30 dinner. They walk him back and forth all day. He’s now walking like a normal person and not shuffling anymore. They shave him and do his nails and toes. It is God's heaven for the elderly. I think God pushed me to that place. It is not in a very good neighborhood in Cameron Park, but it's what's inside that matters. I spent Christmas Eve with him. In the morning, they were right on schedule, I watched what they did, and it was unbelievable. You could hear the coffee and eggs and bacon. Whatever he wants they give him. They have a monitor on him and a thing that slides out. They don't like him to sleep in bed because he will fall, but the chair is perfect for him. They help him to the bathroom and have given him a big bell to ring. The doors are open, they are not shut. There are four other men there, and it’s wonderful.
When our mother, Madeleine, moved into Pine Tree Villa two and a half years ago a huge weight was lifted from our shoulders because we knew we had finally found the right home for her and "home" is exactly what it became for all of us. The management and staff at Pine Tree are the most competent, compassionate and caring people we have ever met and mom has thrived in her environment. Our mother suffers from advanced dementia, which can be challenging for any caregivers, but Pine Tree Villa has risen, over and above our expectations, to the challenge. I guarantee you will be happy to have your loved one living in this home.
After almost 8 years at Pine Tree Villa, our family continues to be happy with our mother's care. The compassion the staff shows is endless. Her physician is amazed with her health and the ends the staff goes to provide mom with friendship and a healthy lifestyle.
